PalmaThe Civic Neighborhood Association of Santa Catalina and El Jonquet will request the reopening of the Joan Crespí center to dedicate it to the care of people with disabilities and physiotherapy and rehabilitation services linked to the Santa Catalina health center.

The demand will be conveyed this Friday to a second meeting with the Minister of Families, Social Welfare and Dependency Care, Sandra Fernández, after the presentation of more than 400 signatures collected by residents of Santa Catalina, the neighborhood Health Commission, and the neighborhood association itself.

The promoters of the initiative request that the old Joan Crespí center become a local center intended to offer physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for both chronic patients and people with acute problems.

Likewise, they propose that these facilities be linked to the Santa Catalina health center, because they consider that the current health equipment has insufficient space and resources to meet the existing demand, especially among people with mobility problems.

Barri Cívic has expressed confidence in obtaining a favorable response to a request that it considers necessary to improve care and socio-health assistance in this area of Palma.
