PalmWe know her without knowing her; we've spent more time with her than we think, and I'm sure more than one person has done a caption with her this summer. We can almost say we've seen her grow up, because we've been watching her—and she's been watching us—through the screen for years. She's presenter and journalist Antònia Ferrer, one of the program's most recognizable faces. Five Days from IB3 Television until September 2024, when she became the presenter of the contest Catch me if you can! Now, it's better to bear the heavy hot afternoons with CapficoAnd to be able to say we know her a little better, we asked her mother, Magdalena Ferrà, to tell us some secrets about the childhood and adolescence of the porrerenca, who turned 31 this summer and has an older sister, Agustina, who is 10 years her senior.

Competitive, independent, slightly unsociable. These are some of the adjectives her mother uses to describe her. As a child, Antonia already stood out for having a strong personality: "She was mean. She didn't like being bossed around at all. When I asked her to give her godmother a kiss, she just ruminated. She wasn't unfriendly, but she didn't laugh at everyone's jokes," explains Magdalena, who remembers her birthday, now remembers her birthday. A day later, July 30th, Antonia was born. Since then, they celebrate together.

The presenter had a very strong relationship with her maternal godmother, who is no longer with us. "She spent a lot of time with my mother, and she would tell her things that she didn't have the confidence to tell me. However, she was such a competitive girl that when they played cards or Parcheesi, her godmother had to let her win because otherwise she would cause a stir."

All the energy that Antònia put into competition earned her entry into the Balearic Islands Sports Development Center when she was in her second year of secondary school, and she was one of the best players in the Porreres basketball club: "She never gave up on a ball; if she had to face someone, she faced someone. Currently, she has directed this spirit towards perfectionism, says her mother: "If she does something, she must do it well. She gives her all and does everything she can to achieve what she has set out to do or what has been entrusted to her. She's very self-confident and likes to have a clear conscience knowing that she's done things the right way," says Magdal.

Antònia loves animals and, when she was a doll, she would often "pick up cats from the street and bring them home." She also loves cooking and enjoys the strong, spicy flavors of the countries she visits. Traveling is one of her great passions, which her mother links to the fact that since she was young she had expressed the desire to study Geography. This summer she's going to Bali, but she's visited places in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Iceland...

And how did she end up studying Journalism? Magdalena answers the question: "At the Technical Center she met Marta Montoya, the presenter of the News on IB3. Since Marta wanted to study Journalism, Antonia got the bug. It wasn't her true calling, but she was excited about it and they both ended up joining Madre Alberta.

Magdalena says that television has worked out well for Antònia because she's extroverted and talkative, although she's much more so with people she trusts. In short, "she's not ashamed to express her feelings, but she's not very affectionate either. With her partner, with whom they've been for almost a decade, she sometimes appears more affectionate, but in general she's not one to cling too tightly. She has few friends, but good ones."
