TIB drivers will have two 15-minute breaks during the day.
Workers consider the measure "a key achievement" after the July strike.

PalmThe Ministry of Mobility, the Mallorca Transport Consortium (CTM), the concessionaire companies, and the SATI union will introduce two 15-minute breaks in the working day for drivers of the Balearic Islands Transport (TIB) exempt from the tachograph regulations. This measure, which the SATI union considers "a key achievement" after the July strike, aims to improve worker health and road safety without reducing service frequencies, as the organization detailed in a statement this Monday.
The original agreement, reached during the conflict mediation, depended on the involvement of the CTM (Cultural and Technical Council), responsible for managing schedules. The Regional Ministry, through the Directorate General of Mobility, demonstrated its complete willingness to make these breaks viable from the outset. For the union, this demand was a "top" priority. To address the complexity of summer schedules, a new meeting has been scheduled for January that will bring together the Regional Ministry, the concessionaire companies, and SATI (Services for Transport and Transport). As the union has pointed out, the objective is to plan the adjustments for the peak season well in advance. These modifications will not imply a reduction in frequencies.
The solution involves optimizing current routes, making small changes that allow excess time to be combined into the two stipulated 15-minute breaks. In addition to this progress, it was also agreed to hold regular meetings to jointly address the various challenges facing the sector and seek agreed-upon solutions.
