Two years in prison and a €12,000 fine for raping an 11-year-old girl in Palma
The convicted has recognized the facts
PalmaThe Second Section of the Provincial Court of Balearic Islands has sentenced a man to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor in Palma. The Court has issued a judgment of conformity after the parties reached an agreement before the trial and the man admitted the accusations.
The sentence, which reduces the initial request of nine and a half years in prison to two years, takes into account as mitigating factors the accused's affective and schizophrenic disorders and that he has already paid the 12,000 euros (8,000 delivered to the victim and 4,000 euros already deposited) claimed as compensation.
The man, as the parties have taken into account, due to his disorders, at the time of the events did not perceive relationships correctly and was not aware of his actions and decisions.
The now convicted man has admitted that between January 2017 and August 2019, when the victim, the daughter of his sister's partner, was between 11 and 12 years old, he took advantage of the moments when he was alone with the minor to sexually assault her.
