PalmIt's striking when someone speaks about someone so brilliantly that it seems like sparks are coming out of their mouths. We're told about the artist Mar Grimalt, born in Felanitx in 1996. And the one who provides the words, the fire, and all the love in the world is Margalida Estelrich, who was a fifth and sixth grade teacher at Mar Primary School, and also a theater teacher. And she's clear about it: "She's one of those people you love whether you want to or not."

"Mar was a very dedicated and friendly girl with her classmates, a great companion and friend. Suddenly you saw in her a special sensitivity for words, a literary creativity and an appreciation for relevant reading. That stood out. 10: responsible, hardworking and with good attitudes that made her stand out," says Margalida, who never hides the joy that runs through her body when talking about Mar. "I especially remember the poetry project we did at school those years, where she had a very careful sensitivity to find the nuances. Whether she had to write about a louse or a trip, she knew how to find that perfect word, the tone and the nuance."

After school, when Mar started secondary school, they continued their contact in the theatre workshop taught by Margalida: "She immediately grasped the character and the story of the character. Whether she had her dance, sing or do anything else, she always put in the same dedication. Besides, she had a very good memory: give her a text today, and tomorrow she would know it." - her teacher.

To explain what Mar's character was like, Margalida only needs one anecdote, which for her is a gift, one of those details that tug at your heartstrings in such a way that you remember them for the rest of your life: "She gave me a very special gift when I had to do 1st or 2nd year of compulsory secondary school. With those from the theatre workshop,Love of the Three Oranges in the square, in front of everyone. At the end of the play, Mar took out her blue guitar. All the other performers came on stage with a piece of paper and began to sing a song. I, as the teacher, didn't know anything about it. She had prepared it in secret, and it was a lovely surprise. Mar had composed the lyrics and music alone, but she wanted, and succeeded, in making it a collective gift. She kept repeating that it wasn't her merit, but everyone's," Margalida recounts emotionally, even today, fifteen years later. "Mar has always shown gratitude and appreciation for everything she's learned and for the people who have taught her. He's grown a lot, we all saw it when we were at the concert he gave –soon to be a year– at his father's cement factory, but he maintains the humility and sweetness of when he was a child."

Mar's father died a few years ago, and she has now suffered other losses. Mar has known how to transform pain into "creation and vitality." She says of the artist that he is "a vital person, who eats life in mouthfuls, who knows how to see the most sensitive and beautiful side of existence." That everyone was surprised." Despite everything, she says, "she smiled": "If I had to define him, I would say that he is a person with shining eyes, with that shine that some beings touched by the moon have, special and magical."

Margalida! "That part of all this is your fault!" The teacher, however, is clear: "If Mar were a piece of clay, the sculptor would be her mother."
