A young woman accuses her father of raping and beating her for years: "He would tell me to stand here, he would open my legs and rape me."
During her statement, the victim asserted that "since she was old enough to understand," her father had behaved aggressively towards both her and her siblings.
PalmA young woman accused her father on Tuesday of raping and abusing her for nearly a decade in Mallorca. The victim recounted her story in court at the Balearic Islands Provincial Court. The prosecution is seeking a 20-year prison sentence and €40,000 in compensation for the man, who is accused of three counts of domestic abuse and one count of continuous sexual assault. During her testimony, the victim stated that "since she was old enough to understand," her father behaved aggressively toward her and her siblings. "He would hit us at the slightest provocation. I had makeup exams and didn't want to study. He made me kneel and hit me on the legs with a bamboo cane," she recalled, referring to one of the many episodes of abuse that allegedly occurred between 2014 and 2022. Over the years, the abuse escalated into frequent sexual assaults between 2016 and 2022, when she was between 10 and 16 years old. "He would tell me to get over there, spread my legs, and penetrate me," she stated. The young woman, now 22, said she cannot remember the exact number of times her father raped her. She indicated that she didn't tell anyone what happened until later because she was afraid of him. "I was afraid he would hit me," she said.
The events, as outlined by the prosecutor in his indictment, took place over more than eight years, during which time the alleged aggressor created a "climate of terror" for his daughter and within the family. For the first six years, from when the girl was in fourth grade until shortly before the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, he repeatedly assaulted her inside their home. He would hit her with a cane or beat her until she was slammed against the wall.
The rapes began in 2016 when the girl was 10 years old. The man raped her on multiple occasions until 2022. When she resisted, he used violence. As a result of these events, the girl has suffered post-traumatic stress and has had to undergo therapy for years.
