Ossifar releases a new song: "I don't like reggaeton, Ossifar at Eurovision"
The group presents "I don't like reggaeton", an unreleased track that is born from their return and will premiere live this July at Son Fusteret
PalmaAfter announcing their brief return, Ossifar has released a new song, I Don't Like Reggaeton, which can now be heard on digital platforms. The track is the result of this reunion with the public and was presented this past Wednesday at El Corte Inglés, where the group also announced that on May 30th they will have a meet-and-greet with fans, including a signing and photo session.
The new piece will premiere live on July 3rd at Son Fusteret, as part of the concert announced in Mallorca, and will also be part of the repertoire for the performance scheduled for July 11th at the Mercadal fairgrounds, within Sant Martí Fest 2026, which will be the group's only date in Menorca.
With I don't like reggaeton, Ossifar maintains its ironic and irreverent style, while introducing new sonic nuances, such as the incorporation of a string quartet. The song has been conceived as a token of appreciation to the public, after a reception that the group has described as particularly affectionate. "We just want to say thank you, after so many years you've been here", they point out, in a song that also functions as a reminder of this exceptional moment and does not renounce its critical and humorous tone.
The chorus —"I don't like reggaeton, Ossifar at Eurovision"— synthesizes this balance between irony and vindication, with a look at the music industry and the current context. The composition is by Llàtzer Méndez and Lluís Arboledas, along with Carlos Lambertini, who is also in charge of the guitar and arrangements.
To criticize this musical style, they recalled that throughout their musical career they have played an infinite number of styles, but they have stated that one thing is clear, they will never do reggaeton. "We have sung, we have danced, we have farted and we have burped, we have done rap, cha cha cha, Boleros and rock and rolls, we have drunk, we have messed around, but never…never! We will do a reggaeton," they say in the song.
The track features the participation of various musicians, such as Jaume Ginard on drums, Pablo di Salvo on bass, Jaume Blázquez on trumpet, Sergi Tous on trombone, and Lleonard Martínez on saxophone, in addition to the string quartet formed by Lucía Pérez, Lluç D’zerep, Jaime Gómez, and Gonçal Mèndez. The string and brass arrangements are by Sergio Llopis and the musical production has been carried out by Antoni Noguera.
Parallel to the digital release, the group will release a physical album with the Blau label under the title Por si un caso, which will include a selection of Ossifar's iconic songs, following the line of the compilation "Te’n recuerdas" released last summer. The work can be purchased during the fan meeting on May 30th, in a new demonstration of the group's connection with its audience after years of absence.
