PalmThe Ministry of Education has published the list of hard-to-fill specialties for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year, a total of 185 positions, coinciding with the first round of awarding temporary positions. Based on these specialties, according to the Ministry in a press release this Tuesday, the very hard-to-fill positions for the next academic year will be determined.

The hard-to-fill index is the ratio between the available positions in a specialty, shift, and island that remain to be awarded, and the number of admitted and available applicants who can fill them. Thus, a specialty is considered hard-to-fill when there are fewer than five applicants per position.

Ibiza leads the way

Thus, in the list published for the next academic year, 67 specialties are classified as hard-to-fill in Ibiza, 20 in Formentera, 50 in Mallorca, and 48 in Menorca. In total, there are 185 positions, 47 of them part-time. Last academic year, 113 specialties were classified as hard-to-fill.

The very hard-to-fill positions are all those in Formentera, as well as those in Menorca and Ibiza, corresponding to those specialties in which the number of applicants in the temporary employment pool for each position is less than five, or where, once the awarding procedures for temporary civil servant candidates have been announced, the positions are filled for at least 15 days. Starting in September, the monthly supplement for hard-to-fill positions will be €200 in Ibiza and €100 in Menorca. For positions that are very difficult to fill, the supplement increases from 300 to 400 euros.
