Coast condemns antisemitic graffiti in Santa Maria and calls for "common sense"

PalmaThe Government spokesperson, Antoni Costa, has condemned this Monday the antisemitic graffiti that appeared on two homes linked to one of the activists arrested last week for the graffiti against real estate offices in Santa Maria. He also called for a de-escalation of tension in the municipality after the incidents of recent days.

Costa has assured that the Government rejects "any act of vandalism or coercion", whether it affects businesses or private homes. In this regard, he expressed his confidence that the security forces will identify the authors of the graffiti and that, if applicable, they will be brought before the courts. The vice-president has appealed for "common sense" and "calm" in the face of the tense climate in the municipality. "An escalation of tension is occurring, which is not good," he stated in declarations to the media.

The Government's condemnation comes after a few days marked by the arrest of two young women for graffiti against real estate companies in the municipality, an action that triggered a concentration of support and, subsequently, the appearance of this new graffiti against the circle of one of the activists.
