PalmThe Vox municipal group has submitted a request for an appearance by Councillor Javier Bonet (PP) to explain the reasons why the Flexas festival, held on 4 July in the Parc de la Mar, was declared of municipal interest. When adopting this declaration, Palma City Council took into account the need to cooperate with proposals that promote culture, understood from a contemporary and diverse perspective, linked to the demand for equality.

Flexas is a festival that has established itself as an annual event due to its uniqueness and its status as an artistic landmark in Palma and throughout Mallorca, especially within the field of LGBTQ+ culture. In its proposal, however, Vox considers it "a mistake" to support a festival "with this ideology." However, the text makes it clear that the party does support popular festivals, some of which have "religious origins" and others that date back to memorial traditions or are part of "our culture."

They also explain that they have received complaints from citizens in the neighborhood near Parque del Mar about incivility and loud noise from the music. Vox also does not understand why a party run by a "private business" is funded with money and subsidies from all the residents of Palma.

Therefore, they want to know why it was declared of municipal interest and whether, when analyzing this declaration, the ideological content of the event and its possible influence on minors were taken into account. They also request to know the budget items that partially financed their party and the services provided by different municipal agencies, such as the deployment of the Local Police, Civil Protection, health, and cleaning services. They also want to know if these expenses have been assumed by the municipal government or the organizers.

Furthermore, they request a post-party report with an assessment of the event and any possible incidents, as well as whether the location is planned to be changed if the Flexas party is held again next year.
