Animal rights activists present 50,000 signatures against the chicken mega-farm in Manacor

PalmaARDE and Satya Animal will deliver 50,000 signatures this Friday to the Council of Mallorca to demand the rejection of the project for a mega-farm of 80,000 hens in Son Brau, in Manacor. The organizations are asking the Minister of Agriculture, Joan Simonet, and the island institution not to authorize the new facility.

The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Passeig de Sagrera, 6, in Palma, after both organizations released images this week of two farms managed by the same company in the municipality. According to the entities, the images show the conditions of these operations and reinforce the need to examine the consequences of authorizing a new industrial farm in Manacor.
