A British tourist avoids prison after raping an unconscious woman twice in Magaluf

PalmaA compensation of 6,000 euros and avoiding prison time if he does not commit any crime during the next two years. This is the sentence that the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands has imposed on a British tourist who raped a woman twice who had become unconscious after consuming cocaine and vodka. The defendant has acknowledged the facts and reached an agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office and the private prosecution that has allowed for the initial sentence request to be reduced from seven to two years.

The Second Section of the Court has orally delivered a conformity sentence. In the reduction of the sentence, the consumption of alcohol and drugs by the accused and the years that the case has been paralyzed have been taken into account as mitigating circumstances. Thus, the man will not have to enter prison if he does not commit any crime during the next two years. Furthermore, he has committed to compensate the victim with the aforementioned amount within a period of six months, through monthly payments of €1,000.

He raped her when she was unconscious

The events took place on July 15, 2022. According to the convicted person's admission, on that day he met the victim at a hotel pool party and invited her to go up to his room. There, the woman suddenly fainted and became unconscious after having consumed a very high amount of cocaine and vodka. The man took advantage of her being in that state to rape her on two occasions.
