PalmThe Balearic Islands Higher School of Dramatic Art (ESADIB) has temporarily removed from his duties the person who until now was the head of studies after he was accused of carrying out "reprehensible practices" with the students.

The school announced this in a letter to the educational community, the contents of which have been confirmed to Europa Press by sources. ESADIB, while suspending the head of studies from his duties, which does not imply his departure from the school, has opened an internal investigation to clarify the facts. The letter refers to anonymous messages published on social media, alleging "reprehensible practices" that the teacher and member of the management team may have engaged in.

The Instagram account @testimoniosartesescénicas posted an anonymous message three days ago in which someone publicly denounced a professor at ESADIB for "abusing his power and his female students for ten years" and having sexual relations with them. "All under the pretext of secrecy, obviously. The problem is that the secrecy is now public knowledge. Everyone knows it and nobody cares. Lately, he's even been given more institutional power. They've made him promise behind closed doors that he'll never do it again," the anonymous complaint states. However, according to the message, the professor has continued "harassing multiple students" through social media.

Report to the Ministry of Education

The Balearic Islands Higher School of Dramatic Art (ESADIB) will request that the Education Inspectorate prepare a report on the suspended head of studies. Sources at the Ministry of Education and Universities reported that this procedure will begin shortly, and will determine whether or not further measures will be taken. It should be recalled that just four years ago, the Higher School had to dismiss the academic director of ESADIB, Pere Fullana, and the secretary, Martí B. Fons, also for the same type of harassment of students.
