PalmaThe Mallorca Design Festival 2027 will once again convene the National Landscape Architecture Award, endowed with 3,000 euros by the Jardins Tramuntana studio. The award, which reaches its second edition, is aimed at students, graduates, and professionals with a maximum of five years of experience, residing in Spain. Proposals can be submitted until December 30, 2026.

Under the theme 'Inhabiting the heat: Mediterranean gardens in the future', the competition proposes designing the garden of a single-family home in Deià, with views of the Serra de Tramuntana and designed for a family with small children. The challenge is to create an attractive and functional space that adapts to high temperatures and water scarcity.

The jury will especially value the selection of plant species and materials, the strategies to cope with heat and drought, water conservation, and the promotion of biodiversity.

The festival, which this year bears the theme 'Future root', will celebrate its sixth edition from March 8th to 12th, 2027, in Palma and Inca, with activities dedicated to design, interior design, fashion, and landscaping.
