The Aemet rules out showers, fog, strong wind and suspended dust, but forecasts temperatures of 30 degrees
PalmaThe State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a Wednesday, August 12th afternoon with stable weather and good visibility in the Balearic Islands, coinciding with the total solar eclipse. Current forecasts indicate few clouds and high temperatures, around 30 degrees at the time of the phenomenon.
The Aemet delegate in the Balearic Islands, María José Guerrero, explained that, two days before the eclipse, most meteorological phenomena that could hinder its observation can already be ruled out. The eclipse will be visible from numerous points in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera.
Specifically, there are no expected showers that could cause curtains of water, fog, or strong winds that would hinder vision. The entry of suspended dust, another factor that could reduce the clarity of the sky, is also not anticipated.
Thus, if the forecasts hold, meteorological conditions should not be an obstacle to contemplating the eclipse. The only notable element will be the heat, with temperatures around 30 degrees during the afternoon.
