A second minor involved in the fatal stabbing in Son Gotleu has been arrested

PalmaThe National Police have arrested a second minor who is allegedly related to the fatal stabbing in Son Gotleu last Sunday, in which a 19-year-old youth lost his life. Agents from the National Police Homicide Group are processing the case with the alleged perpetrator—also a minor—and are continuing with the investigations, as reported by the police force.

The agents have deduced that, prior to the incident, an argument and a fight took place in which the alleged perpetrator had participated. Hours after the event, the National Police arrested this minor as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of homicide, and a juvenile court has ordered his admission to an internment center.

According to the details provided, the events took place last Sunday night, when around 10:50 PM several calls were received at 091 alerting that a young man had been stabbed and was on the ground with an open bleeding wound in his chest.

Several patrols arrived at the scene and observed on Indalecio Prieto street a crowd of people around a man lying on the ground. Next to the injured man, there was a citizen who was assisting him by covering his wound with a t-shirt.

At that moment, an ambulance arrived, assisted the victim, performed resuscitation maneuvers, and transported the injured person to a hospital where he died hours later.

Witnesses

The officers interviewed several witnesses and gathered information about the events. Some indicated that an argument had taken place which led to a fight in an alley where the stabbing occurred, after which the victim collapsed and the aggressor fled.

The officers conducted several sweeps of the area to locate the aggressor and the murder weapon, although they did not find any weapon or object that could have been used to cause the injury, nor any individual with the characteristics provided by the witnesses.

However, around 1:00 AM, a patrol located a young man in Orson Wells Park who matched the physical description of the aggressor. He was agitated and trembling, and for this reason, the officers arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of a homicide crime.

The Homicide Group of the National Police has taken charge of the investigation, taking statements from witnesses and carrying out procedures to clarify the facts. The officers verified that the detainee, who was undocumented, was a minor, and they processed the report and communicated the facts to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
