PalmaThe National Police have arrested ten people in Manacor linked to a criminal group dedicated to drug trafficking in an operation in which 550 marijuana plants, one kilogram of buds, about 40 grams of cocaine, and 27,500 euros in cash have been seized. The so-called Operation Brooks was carried out by the police force in Manacor after several months of investigation into a group that allegedly engaged in the distribution of cocaine and marijuana in the municipality.

Investigators deployed an operation last Thursday that began at 5:30 AM and allowed for six searches, three of which were carried out simultaneously in homes used as points of sale, storage, or residence for the suspects. During the searches, officers seized one kilogram of marijuana buds, over 27,500 euros in cash, jewelry, and various materials for the preparation and distribution of narcotic substances, including a large-scale scale and five precision scales.

They also located over 40 grams of cocaine and, according to the investigation, the group procured about 50 grams of this drug daily, an amount that would correspond to their usual sales. Furthermore, officers discovered a marijuana plantation inside one of the homes and two more in the surrounding areas, with a total of 550 plants.

The entry into one of the properties, which had a reinforced door, required the participation of specialists from the operational group of technical interventions deployed from the Peninsula.

After concluding the searches, the police arrested the ten investigated individuals as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking offenses and belonging to a criminal group. Some of them are also attributed an offense of electricity fraud for the supply used for the marijuana plantations.
