Aggression to healthcare personnel in Sant Antoni: a doctor is kicked and a nurse is spat on
The alleged aggressor also attacked SAMU 061 staff before being arrested by the Local Police
PalmaA patient has assaulted a doctor and a nurse from the Primary Care Emergency Service (SUAP) at the Sant Antoni health center in Ibiza. The man kicked the doctor and spat at the nurse during the incident. He also confronted staff from the Urgent Medical Care Service (SAMU 061).
According to the Pitiüses Health Area, the intervention of the center's security personnel was key to containing the aggressor and preventing the situation from worsening. Subsequently, the Sant Antoni Local Police arrested the alleged perpetrator. The assaulted doctor has already announced that she will file a complaint.
The Pitiüses Health Area has condemned "with absolute firmness" this assault and any act of violence against healthcare professionals during the exercise of their work. Likewise, it has activated the protocol for attending to assaulted professionals and has offered them the care and legal support provided for in these cases.
