PalmaAs a boy, he suffered from a strong obsession with animals and everyone thought he would end up as a veterinarian; he collected books about animals. He spent his adolescence singing Amy Winehouse and dancing to Madonna and Cher. He was also fascinated by Marilyn Monroe: “She was a cliché made into a person. I was very obsessed with Marilyn: I had photographs and posters of her in my room.” Cristina speaks, who still laughs when she explains it. She is the sister of Jaume Miranda (Palma, 1993), communicator and content creator on social media.

At his home, reading for a while after dinner was a custom. Cristina, who is five years older than Jaume, remembers that he would take advantage of that moment to delve into his latest hobby: “He did a very strange thing: when he read, he would put a napkin on his head, as if he could concentrate better that way.”

Jaume's followers are used to seeing a cheerful, fun, ironic, and stunning character who speaks with joy about pop culture and his references. It is not quite like that as Cristina presents him: “We are like night and day. I am explosive, open, and active. He, despite how he appears on social media, needs more time with people to find a space of trust. As a child, he was rather shy.” Likewise, his sister highlights that Jaume has had “very good friendships.” The siblings went to the Mata de Jonc school, and there “from the age of three until the fourth year of ESO you go with the same people,” because it is a small school. “His friends are still from school, and some friends from Barcelona, where he lives, have been added.”

The city is the place where this native of Palma, who has settled in the Catalan capital, feels most alive. That is why he found it very unfun to spend the summer in Portocolom with his family when he was younger: “I remember that on any magnificent summer day when everyone went out to roam and wander around outside, Jaume would put on black and white movies and stay on the sofa. He is a city person, through and through!” comments Cristina.

His curiosity for cinema comes from his father and mother, who were great film buffs. Jaume began to get interested in movies from a very young age. “As a kid, I used to make short films. Especially with a cousin. Sometimes, I also played the actress. He would film and do the editing with PowerPoint. We would dress up, something that he has also always enjoyed a lot, and we would prepare everything. It was very much a show,” relates Cristina, who remembers how on Saturdays, after family lunches, Jaume and his cousin would liven up the after-dinner conversation with some performance. It is no wonder, then, that Jaume signed up for theater as a teenager. “He did it very well, and at home, we thought he would end up at the Institute of Theater.” Finally, when choosing a career, he opted to study cinema at ESCAC.

The pop culture that identifies him so much was also fueled by television, in a universe very different from his father’s, “who is a jazz musician,” the sister clarifies. However, Cristina is very clear about when that bug for the gossip press began to feed: “On Fridays, we would go to sleep at our grandmother’s house. There, we really did consume gossip shows! They probably weren't very appropriate, but they ended up leaving a mark on Jaume’s pop imagination.”

Jaume and Cristina are still like night and day. When they were little, they had more “wars,” especially “on family trips,” but with age, everything finds its place. “As a brother, he is a ten. It is true that he has a certain tendency toward impostor syndrome: he underestimates himself a little.” Having him nearby is a guarantee of having a good time: he has the ability to make everyone feel comfortable, he is “a great friend,” she asserts. However, Cristina, who owns a sports center, has a challenge: “I have still never been able to convince him to come here to lift some weights.”
