PalmThe Socialist municipal group of Alaró has expressed "deep concern" about the lack of governance in the municipality, which has worsened following the appointment of the mayor, Llorenç Perelló (PP), as Director General of Culture for the Balearic Islands Government. Therefore, they are demanding Perelló's immediate resignation so that citizens can regain confidence that the local administration is prioritizing services and community life.

"The compatibility of responsibilities between the mayoralty and this regional position puts the proper management of Alaró and the quality of public services at risk," said Andreu Vidal, who added that "the mayor cannot cover with a minimum of efficiency two positions that, separately, already require full and continuous dedication."

The Socialist spokesperson in Alaró, Andreu Vidal.

Vidal believes that in this situation, where the residents of Alaró are relegated to "a secondary priority for the mayor," it is necessary for Perelló to step aside for someone else who "has the time and drive necessary to lead the municipality." The Socialist municipal group has already warned of the problems caused by the mayor dividing his working hours and public service between Alaró, the directorship of the Balearic Institute of Studies, and the presidency of the Mallorcan Cooperation Fund: "The mayor is not in his office in the town square." The Socialists believe that his appointment as Director General of Culture "will only exacerbate Perelló's disconnect from the day-to-day reality of Alaró."
