The PSOE accuses the PP of "wreaking havoc on the Tramuntana mountain range and holding an act to whitewash it."
The Socialists will not attend the event commemorating the 14th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The spokesperson for the PSOE in the Council of Mallorca, Catalina Cladera, denounced this Thursday that the governing team of the island institution, formed by the PP and Vox, "destroys the Tramuntana mountain range" and held an event in Raixa commemorating the 14th anniversary of the declaration of this space as a UNESCO World Heritage Site to "whitewash the barbarity they promote." The Socialists will not attend the event because they do not want to participate "in the farce and in the act of hypocrisy and lies" that the current Government is being expanded with the approval of the PP and Vox (which allows the legalization of illegal constructions built before 1991, when the Law on Natural Spaces was passed) and has described it as "the largest urban planning amnesty ever implemented in the Serra." Furthermore, he asserted that the PP "is turning the Serra into a bargaining chip to stay in power" and criticized the Consell for now reinstating the Law for the protection of this space promoted by the previous progressive government, "solely to clean up its image while encouraging speculation." In this context, Cladera recalled that it was the Socialists who promoted the Serra's candidacy for UNESCO in 2011. "Now it is especially painful to see how the PP-Vox agreements will provoke a new construction tsunami in Mallorca."
According to the PSOE, measures such as the legalization of up to 30,000 buildings on rural land, the development of new construction around municipalities with more than 10,000 inhabitants without exhausting the available land for development, or the increase of 90,000 marketable tourist spaces represent a "threat."
The MÁS por Mallorca group of the island institution has accused the PP of "breaking the consensus" to protect the Tramuntana mountain range and has registered a motion that will be debated in the next plenary session of the Consell (Consell). This motion focuses on the active defense of this area in the face of what they consider a "serious and inappropriate attempt." The party believes that "the urban planning amnesty not only violates the basic principles of territorial planning, but also opens the door to the degradation of an area declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO." The purpose of the new regulations is to "provide legal security" for hundreds of homes in irregular situations. Similarly, they asserted that "it is not about urbanization, but about guaranteeing the rights of residents." years."
In this sense, he wanted to make it clear that the PP will not allow "even one more metro" to be built in the Serra. "What we are seeking is to regularize situations inherited from the past and protect the rights of families who live in housing that is out of order and in a legal limbo." ~BK_SLT_L
