PalmaAlpinists Marc Toralles and Bru Busom starred in the opening of the 17th Colonya Mountain Film Festival in Palma, held at the Xesc Forteza Municipal Theater after the event had to be postponed due to the DANA Adam.

The two athletes have been recognized with the Piolet d'Or, the highest distinction in world mountaineering, for the first complete traverse of Yerupajá Grande (6,634 meters), in Peru, via the route 'The Essence of Commitment'. The milestone, shared with Rubén Sanmartín, marked the first Piolet d'Or for Catalan mountaineering.

Precisely, this expedition is the focus of the documentary The Essence of Commitment, directed by Adrià Martínez and screened during the Festival.

The film event will run until October 27th with nine days of programming, 24 films –14 of which are short films in competition–, conferences, colloquiums, and the participation of 14 guests. Among this year's proposals is also the world premiere of Hatua, about the Mix Manresa expedition to Kilimanjaro on an adapted bicycle.
