PalmaThe Contentious-Administrative Court number 1 of Palma has admitted for processing the class action lawsuit by the STEI against the Government to claim the full payment of the extraordinary bonuses for teachers in the Balearic Islands. The union requests that the specific regional supplement and the professional career supplement be included.

According to the amounts detailed by the STEI, the specific regional supplement would amount to between 840 and 1,240 euros per year, depending on each teacher's six-year terms, while the professional career supplement would add another 162 euros per year. The union also claims the amounts corresponding to the last four years and the legal interest.

The lawsuit was filed after the Department of Education and Universities denied the payment last July. The court has summoned the parties to a hearing in April 2028.

The STEI argues that, in accordance with the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, structural complementary remuneration must be included in full in the extraordinary bonuses. The union frames this claim within the loss of purchasing power of public workers in the Balearic Islands.
