Montuïri allocates more than €500,000 to improvements in Son Forners, El Dau, La Revolt and paths
The mayor of the municipality has explained that the projects will be awarded soon, once formalized
PalmThe Montuïri Town Council will soon award grants for improvements to the town totaling more than €500,000. These projects include the adaptation of the surroundings of the Son Fornés archaeological center; the environmental and functional improvement of Avenida del Dau; and the repair and paving of several public paths in the municipality.
Doors and windows are also being replaced at the Revolt football field. The mayor of Montuïri, Paula Maria Amengual, explained that, along with other initiatives, these projects are pending formalization and will be definitively awarded in the coming days.
Son Foners
On the one hand, Montuïri's archaeological heritage will receive a significant boost. The City Council will allocate €196,222 to adapt the surroundings of the Son Forners archaeological heritage research and dissemination center. This project is funded by the Tourist Accommodation Exchange Consortium (CBAT) and aims to "highlight one of the most important Talayotic sites on the island."
The central objective of the project is to transform and improve the space that houses the site. The idea is to "dignify the current conditions of the surroundings and guarantee greater accessibility for researchers and visitors." The intervention involves landscape integration to improve the surroundings with retaining walls, boundary stones, and dry-stone paths, "ensuring that the new infrastructure blends harmoniously with the rural and historical surroundings of Son Forners."
Avenida del Dau
Likewise, the project for the environmental and functional improvement of Avenida del Dau has also been put out to tender, in the first section that runs from Carrer de Pare Vicens Mas to Carrer de Ramon Llull, "a key initiative for the modernization of the urban infrastructure of the core."
The objective goes beyond an aesthetic improvement of this street, but also a functional one, as the renovation will address existing deficiencies to guarantee a safer, more accessible public space adapted to the current needs of citizens.
The intervention will not be limited solely to the surface; rather, a comprehensive project is planned that will include pavement renewal, optimization of space for pedestrians and vehicles, and, given the name, the incorporation of environmental improvements such as trees or water management. The budget is just over €76,000, financed by the Consell de Mallorca through the Works and Services Plan (POS).
Paths
Finally, several public paths in the municipality of Montuïri will also be repaired and paved, also with a grant from the POS (Public Service). The project has a budget of €217,675 (VAT included), which will be allocated to improving the paths in Maçanet, a section of Les Rotes, and the Pou Nou.
The mayor noted that, regarding the Les Rotes path, a section in poor condition is being repaired. Furthermore, the project to supply and replace doors and windows at the Revolt football field will also be carried out, a project for which €26,673 has been allocated from the Works and Services Plan.
