16 injured in a multiple accident on the Inca highway
The accident has involved seven vehicles and has caused delays of up to four kilometers in the direction of Palma
PalmaA truck crashed this Thursday morning into several cars in a multiple-vehicle accident on the Inca highway (Ma-13), in which a total of seven vehicles were involved. 16 people were injured, two of whom required stabilization and five were transferred to various hospitals in Mallorca.
The incident took place around 8:45 a.m., just before the Son Fuster exit, in the direction of Palma, according to sources from the General Directorate of Traffic and the Civil Guard reported to Europa Press.
Emergency services treated 12 people at the scene of the accident. Five patients were evacuated in ambulances from SAMU 061, Quirón Palmaplanas, and Juaneda.
Specifically, one person was transferred to the Son Espases University Hospital with a polytrauma code. Two more were evacuated to Son Llàtzer Hospital and two to the Juaneda Clinic.
According to the care assessment, there were two less serious patients and three with minor injuries among the people transferred, while the 12 people treated at the scene were classified as having minor injuries.
The operation involved advanced life support ambulances, advanced nursing life support, and basic life support, as well as the logistics vehicle and the command vehicle of SAMU 061.
The accident forced the occupation of the central and right lanes of the Ma-13, which caused traffic jams of up to four kilometers in the direction of Palma, reaching up to the Alcampo exit.
