School calendar 2026-2027 in the Balearic Islands: start dates, end of term and holidays for all levels

PalmThe next school year in the Balearic Islands will have a total of 176 school days and will begin on September 10, 2026, according to the resolution approved by the Ministry of Education and Universities, which was presented this Wednesday to the corresponding Advisory Council.

Classes will begin for students in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Special Education, Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, and Elementary and Professional Music and Dance programs. The academic year will end on June 18, 2027, for all these levels, with the following exceptions: second-year Baccalaureate students will finish classes on May 20 to complete consolidation activities before the University Entrance Exams (PAU), and Elementary and Professional Music and Dance programs will end on June 11. For the first time, the first cycle of Early Childhood Education (ages 0-3) will follow the same calendar as the rest of the levels. Regarding other educational programs, the academic year will begin on September 21 for Vocational Training (basic, intermediate, and advanced levels) and three days later for Elementary and Professional Music programs. Adult Education Centers (CEPA) will also begin on September 23 and end on June 18, the same as Vocational Training. Special Regime Education (ERE) programs—such as arts education, Official Language Schools (EOI), and specialized sports education—will begin on September 28. EOI classes will end on May 31, 2027, while arts and sports education will conclude on June 18.

Holidays and celebrations

The academic calendar sets the Christmas holidays from December 23, 2026, to January 6, 2027, and the Easter holidays from March 25 to April 4, 2027. The unified school holiday will be on February 26, 2027. With this calendar, the Regional Ministry aims to harmonize the deadlines for all levels and allow for the advance planning of activities and holidays for the next academic year.
