Four people arrested in the attempted hit-and-run in Capdepera
The incident occurred on May 18, when a car was fleeing from the Civil Guard and crashed into some Local Police officers of the municipality at a checkpoint.

PalmThe Civil Guard has arrested four people involved in a series of incidents occurred on May 17 and 18 in different towns in the Levante region of Mallorca, where several attempted homicides were committed for attempting to run over local police officers and reckless driving, Efe reports. The most serious incident occurred in the early hours of May 18, when a vehicle fleeing after being followed by a Civil Guard patrol in Cala Rajada came across a Local Police checkpoint in Capdepera. The driver failed to stop and intentionally accelerated towards one of the officers.
Faced with the imminent collision, the officer's partner fired four times at the vehicle with his weapon. No officer was injured.
The same car had been involved in another incident the previous day in La Coma, where it disobeyed a Civil Guard checkpoint and endangered several officers.
He was also spotted traveling at high speed in the wrong direction along Son Servera and Son Carrió, where he ran over several tables on a terrace, forcing customers to get up quickly to avoid being hit.
The Civil Guard opened an investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of four of those involved. Further arrests are not ruled out in the coming days.
