IbizaThe Civil Guard has arrested one of the most active members of the hacktivist group Anonymous Phoenix in Ibiza. The group is under investigation for its alleged involvement in cyberattacks against public institutions and political parties. The arrest is part of a broader operation that has identified the four main leaders of the group. The attacks, primarily DDoS attacks, caused the temporary outage of several official websites in 2023. Anonymous Phoenix intensified its activity in 2024, especially after the DANA storm in the Valencian Community, which it used to justify some of its attacks and accuse government administrations of mismanagement. The investigation has been coordinated by the Cybercrime Prosecutor's Office with the support of the National Cryptologic Center. The group's social media profiles have been shut down, and the Civil Guard considers the core of the organization practically dismantled, although the investigation remains open.
